2021 Coach Registration

Coaching is the lifeblood of our organization. The success of MYB and the growth and development of the players within it depends on dedicated volunteers willing to teach our players the fundamentals of the game of baseball, as well as teamwork, competitive sportsmanship and respect for the game and for others.

We are incredibly thankful to those who volunteer their time to coach.

Beginning in the 2021 season, Babe Ruth League has standardized the background check and abuse prevention training requirements for all volunteers in our league, including coaches. This streamlines the process somewhat, although the individual administrative burden on each coach is a little greater. We recognize this and ask for your understanding that it is required to have all managers and coaches complete the new Babe Ruth League process to be considered for a manager or coach role in 2021.

The new coach registration is now a two-step process:

1. Answer the two followup questions in this registgration program, detailing what league you would like to coach in what and commitment level (manager or coach). You may provide additional comments, as well.

2. After you complete the registration process on the MYB web site, you will see (and be emailed) a link to a SportsEngine registration program that will both perform a background check and conduct an abuse safety training. The successful completion of both of these items will notify MYB that you are cleared to coach for 2021. (This step is an every-other-year process; in other words, all who complete this background check/abuse training this winter will be set until 2023.)

ONLY THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROGRAM WILL BE ALLOWED TO MANAGE OR COACH IN ANY CAPACITY IN 2021.
